Hanaeleh is a non-profit horse rescue that is dedicated to finding homes for abused, neglected and unwanted horses. It also is working to end horse slaughter in the United States.

Raphael and Ella

Our volunteer, Judy, lives down in Ramona now and got to go visit Raphael and Ella at their retirement home at Rancho Refugio!  She was kind enough to send us the pictures so we could see how great they look. :) Don't they look happy! 

Big thanks to Judy for the pictures and to Michelle who runs Rancho Refugio for taking care of our special guys!!

Raphael and Ella in their New Home

We took Ella and Raphael to their new retirement home in Ramona today.  You can see by the pictures that the place is incredible, as are the owners!  There are some times when we wish we could keep the horses we know we cannot rehome, keeping them safe and healthy.  Then there are times when, no matter how much love or good intentions we may have, our facility just isn't the best place for them. 

Ella and Raphael have new horsie friends, a huge grass arena to wander around in, and people who will care for them and love them as we have loved them.  We hope that they will be enjoying their new home for several years to come!
